Marcelline is the surname of the founder and San is derived from Xang in Lang Xang or “Land of the Million Elephants”
Since inception, M&S has supported the livelihoods of over 40 weavers, tailors and suppliers
The Collections, motifs and textures of which are proprietary to Lanjan, depict the intangible and tangible heritage of Laos
With a focus on texture and affordability, for every type of use, the handwoven fabric meets the desired style and quality
Natural Yarn and dyes are sourced from bona fide suppliers unless buyers request the use of synthetic yarn for fit for purpose
Weaving is at Hor Tamhuk, Vientiane, and at M&S Homeweaver Program (HWP) villages across Laos
Yarn composition, abrasion and tear strength tests are carried out at international laboratories
Stringent shrinkage processes are applied, where required, according to the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) standards
Labelling of all Collections and Products follow the highest ethical and consumer protection standards
Quality control is hands on with management involved in every step of the process
