Heun Lanna, meaning Lanna House, is a traditional Lanna-style stilt house, typically built by wealthy inhabitants
It is located at Natures Sanctuary, Ban Phao, Hadxayfong District, Vientiane, less than 10km from Vientiane’s center
The rooms are connected via walkways and bridges and highly valued wood such as teak, sandalwood, or mahogany were used
The vernacular illustrates how previous generations considered the climate and reduced the temperature and humidity by creating living places in sync with the environment
Restoration was carried out over 2017-2019
